Chicago Wedding Venue Transportation Guide

Every Venue Has a Transportation Catch

Chicago wedding venues are gorgeous, but most of them have terrible parking, confusing drop-off areas, or both. We have driven to every major wedding venue in the city hundreds of times. Here is what you need to know.

Lakefront Venues

Adler Planetarium

  • Parking: Limited lot, $25/car, fills fast
  • Drop-off: Solidarity Drive circle, one-lane road
  • Shuttle tip: Stage buses on Museum Campus Drive, not Solidarity
  • Our experience: The one-lane approach backs up fast; stagger arrival times by 10 minutes

Shedd Aquarium

  • Parking: Shared Museum Campus lot
  • Drop-off: McFetridge Drive entrance
  • Shuttle tip: Use the south entrance for buses, north for sedans
  • Our experience: After-event pickup is tricky due to pedestrian traffic; we stage on Solidarity

Downtown Hotels

The Drake Hotel

  • Drop-off: East Walton Place entrance (not the Michigan Ave side)
  • Parking: Valet only, $65/car
  • Shuttle tip: Buses can stage on East Lake Shore Drive
  • Our experience: The doorman coordinates with our drivers for smooth handoff

The Peninsula Chicago

  • Drop-off: East Superior Street motor court
  • Parking: Hotel valet, $75/car
  • Shuttle tip: Large vehicles use the Illinois Street approach
  • Our experience: The Peninsula staff is excellent at coordinating arrivals

Palmer House Hilton

  • Drop-off: Monroe Street entrance for events
  • Parking: Valet $72 or Grant Park garage
  • Shuttle tip: Buses stage on Wabash under the L tracks
  • Our experience: Monroe entrance has the quickest elevator access to ballrooms

Industrial and Loft Venues

Galleria Marchetti

  • Address: 825 W Erie, West Town
  • Drop-off: Erie Street front entrance
  • Parking: Street parking only, very limited
  • Shuttle tip: This venue requires a shuttle. Period. There is nowhere for 100+ guests to park.
  • Our experience: We run continuous loops from River North hotels

Morgan Manufacturing

  • Address: 401 N Morgan, West Loop
  • Drop-off: Morgan Street loading area
  • Parking: Some lot space, street parking scarce
  • Shuttle tip: Stage on Fulton Market for hotel runs

Ravenswood Event Center

  • Address: 4011 N Ravenswood
  • Drop-off: Ravenswood Ave entrance
  • Parking: Limited lot, street parking available
  • Shuttle tip: Less need for shuttles here; parking is manageable

What We Recommend for Every Wedding

  1. Book a guest shuttle if your venue has fewer than 50 parking spots
  2. Stagger arrivals — bridal party first, family second, guests last
  3. Confirm drop-off location with your venue coordinator two weeks out
  4. Have a rain plan — some drop-offs move indoors during weather

From the Driver's Seat

Chauffeur notes — Roberto, 7 years with Royal Carriage

At Galleria Marchetti the alley drop on Superior is tight for the stretch — I fold the side mirrors and back in from Ogden. For the Escalade it's a non-issue but the 14-passenger Sprinter needs a spotter and I always bring a second chauffeur on those runs.

Vehicle Selection Guidance

Royal Carriage maintains a late-model fleet of sedans, SUVs, stretch limos, Sprinter vans, and party buses. Every vehicle carries commercial insurance well above the Illinois minimum, undergoes monthly safety inspections, and is detailed between runs. Chauffeurs complete a 40-hour training program covering Chicago geography, defensive driving, and concierge etiquette before their first solo run.

  • Business attire standard: Chauffeurs arrive in suit and tie with a printed name placard if you request one.
  • Child seats: Available at no charge with 24-hour notice — infant, convertible, and booster.
  • Accessibility: Several SUVs are wheelchair-accessible with rear-entry ramps; request at booking.
  • Flight tracking: We monitor every pickup against your flight number and adjust automatically for delays.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should we book wedding transportation?

For peak season (May-October), 4-6 months ahead is ideal. Popular dates like fall Saturdays can book out 8 months in advance. Off-peak and weekday weddings are often available 6-8 weeks out.

Can you do multiple vehicles for the wedding party?

Yes. A common setup: sedan for the couple, stretch limo for the bridal party, Sprinter van or party bus for additional guests between venues. We coordinate arrivals so nobody waits.

Do you provide decorations?

Complimentary: ribbons, champagne flutes, red carpet at the ceremony drop-off, bottled water, and cold towels on hot days. Custom signage or floral arches available for an additional fee.

What's your cancellation policy for weddings?

Full refund up to 30 days before the wedding. 50% refund 14-30 days out. Inside 14 days, we can reschedule once at no charge.

Can the getaway car have a Just Married sign?

Of course. We'll also stock sparkling wine, glasses, a curated playlist, and privacy tint so the couple gets a real moment after the ceremony.

Do you work with wedding planners?

Extensively. We've partnered with most major Chicago wedding planners and can sync directly to their run-of-show timeline so your transportation integrates with the rest of the day.

Why Chicago Riders Choose Royal Carriage

We've been moving Chicagoans since 2009. Unlike rideshare, every Royal Carriage chauffeur is a W-2 employee, not a gig contractor — meaning consistent training, background-checked drivers, and accountability on every ride. Our dispatch runs 24/7 out of a staffed Chicago office (not an overseas call center), and the person who books your ride is the same person who'll answer if your flight gets rerouted to Milwaukee at 2 a.m.

We serve the entire Chicagoland area: downtown Loop, River North, West Loop, Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, and every North Shore and West Suburban community, plus O'Hare (ORD) and Midway (MDW) with full flight tracking.

Book Your Chicago Limo

Ready to ride? Reserve online in under 60 seconds or call our 24/7 dispatch.

We confirm every reservation by text within 15 minutes and send your chauffeur's name, photo, and live location 30 minutes before pickup.
